Correlative calorific value determination for natural gases in times of fluctuating natural gas quality

Current geopolitical developments, in particular the war in Ukraine, have led to significant changes and upheavals in the international gas market. Germany, which has traditionally been heavily dependent on natural gas imports, is increasingly procuring LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and LNG (liquefied natural gas) from various international sources such as Qatar, the USA, and Norway, which can lead to significant fluctuations in gas quality in the natural gas grid. This diversification of gas sources is an important step towards securing the energy supply, but poses considerable challenges for measurement and control technology.
