International Energy Agency published a special report, with title Are we entering a golden age of gas?' in 2011's World Energy Outlook. This published report examines the key factors which could secure for natural gas a more prominent role on global energy mix, and the implications for other fuels and climate change. The author of this article has made a short summary and added certain analysis to the report. This article includes the following contents. Part 1 introduces the 'Golden age of gas scenario' and assumptions which the scenario has based on; Part 2 discusses the potential to expand the gas supply according to gas production and transaction; Part 3 lists the main drivers of gas demand per sector, taking into account of the environment factors; Part 4 makes an overall assessment of future uncertainties for gas as a fuel. The report published by IEA in 2011 WEO provides a relative optimistic economy outlook for gas.
