Natural gas qualities in Europe will become increasingly diverse involving greater variations in combustion characteristics. Hydrogen produced from surplus renewable energy has a high level of purity and contributes to further reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Standardisation of gas quality specifcations will help to ensure smooth natural gas trading across borders.
