Modernization of heating furnaces for rolling mills

The main directions aimed all over the world by furnaces' modernization are: reducing the fuel and electricity consumptions, reducing the NOx exhausted into the atmosphere and increasing the furnace productivity. These performances were achieved for a furnace modernized by Electro-Total at ArcelorMittal Hunedoara, as follows: reducing the specific consumption of natural gas by ~50 %, reducing the electricity consumption by ~30 %, reducing the NOx-emissions by ~70 %, reducing the iron slag by ~50 %, increasing the furnace productivity by ~25 %.
