In order to improve the efficiency of the furnaces, many furnace owners, designers and manufacturers implement various solutions. Among the measures that could be taken are the preheating of the combustion air using the flue gas heat; the preheating of the waste aluminium products before furnace loading, using also the flue gas heat; the use of high quality refractory materials, allowing a higher temperature inside the furnace; high burners capacity in order to obtain a high melting rate; the use of mixers for homogenization, etc. Some of these measures will be presented in the following article.
