Der Energieträger LNG im Blickpunkt der deutschen Wirtschaft

Die Energiewirtschaft hat in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten von der Bereitstellung bis zur Anwendung viele neue Optionen integriert und neue Pfade aufgezeigt. Dazu zählen regenerative Energiequellen, wie Biogas, Umweltwärmequellen, Kraft-Wärme-Kopplungs-Technologie bzw. Fernwärme und die Windkraftnutzung inklusive des Power-to-Gas-Ansatzes. Die Konvergenz der Strom- und Gasnetze sowie die Transformation der Versorgungsinfrastruktur von einer monodirektionalen in eine bidirektionale Betriebsweise mit einem größeren Grad von Dezentralität und das Bestreben, die Pfade zur Energiebedarfsdeckung möglichst breit zu diversifizieren, lässt eine weitere Energieträgeroption ins Interesse rücken – Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). These include renewable energy sources such as biogas, environmental heat sources, combined heat and power generation, district heating technology and the use of wind power, including the power-to-gas approach. The convergence of electricity and gas grids, the transformation of the supply infrastructure from monodirectional to bidirectional operation with a larger degree of decentralization and the aim to provide various paths to fulfil energy needs garner more and more interest in yet another energy option – Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
