Over the past twenty years, the melting furnace technology in the aluminium industry has experienced a substantial development especially regarding the used combustion systems. Whereas before the furnace user have been focusing on the high capacity of aluminium melters and the frequently asked question was: "How fast is your burner?", today the focus is directed to the issue how can we efficiently melt aluminium. The modern combustion systems for aluminium melting furnaces have to provide a high impulse of combustion gases at low emissions and possible low heat consumption. The regenerative burner systems are most suitable to meet these requirements.
