The production of extruded seamless high-alloy steel pipes demands tight heating tolerances. This article examines a modern system which offers signifcant benefts in terms of fexibility and energy efficiency. Demand for high-alloy seamless pipes has increased noticeably in recent years due to the need for enhanced service performance. The percentage of special alloys ordered, accompanied at the same time by ever smaller batch sizes, is continuing to rise simultaneously, necessitating an improvement, as well as greater fexibility, in process control.
