The Rapid Reaction Valve (RRV®) is a valve with a completely new operating principle: a magnetisable ball is pulled to its valve seat only by the difference in pressure across the valve. In this position, the valve is closed. When the solenoid is energised, the ball is pulled from its valve seat against the effective pressure force, thus opening the valve. This article presents the first applications where the Rapid Reaction Valve is successfully employed.
