A pilot study has been carried out to assess the feasibility of the LNG volume determination by ultrasonic flow meter (USM), compared with the current method established in the Custody Transfer Handbook, i.e. the volume determined by ship’s devices. Taking into account the uncertainty of each system, the results from comparison between static and dynamic LNG quantity metering systems show that measurements are statistically comparable.
