Challenging Inspection of a Gas Pipeline with Ultra Low Flow Operating Conditions

Roughly 40 % of the global transmission pipeline network is considered not suitable for the inspection with traditional free swimming in-line inspection tools. These types of assets require specialized equipment and procedures in order to be reliably inspected and to collect good quality data for integrity assessment purposes. This technical report will provide a brief introduction on the issues of challenging pipeline inspection and then focus on the inspection of a gas pipeline being operated under ultra-low flow conditions. It will introduce the technology used, as well as the specific tailor made procedures and used and show the benefits achieved.
