Energy saving plays an important role in modern industrial countries. If we look at Germany the energy consumption in buildings makes out about 30% of the total energy consumption. This high value must be reduced in the future. The question is which technology is the best to achieve this. The present paper has the focuses on CHP-systems for residential buildings. In the first part of the paper a new CHP-System based on an air to water heat exchanger is described. In the second part experiences form a field test were presented and the mean parameters of efficiency values were discussed. The paper closed with an outlook to “Regional Virtual Power Plant (RVPP) with small micro-CHP units.
