Water Solutions - 01 2020
Digitalization is a topic that has been accompanying us in practically all sectors of our lives. How practicable digitalization is varies enormously from field to field. For Prof. Enrique Cabrera Jr., our interviewee in this issue, the future of water is digital, but there is still a lot to be done. Some articles in this issue show examples of what has been accomplished so far: the benefits that digitalization in water infrastructures brings for utilities and end consumers, how big data enables smart collection systems and protects wastewater treatment plants, how intelligent control and management systems help companies adapt their systems and plants to structural, demographic, and climate change, etc. Other topics discussed in this issue are: PFAS, Water Framework Directive, Zero Liquid Discharge and much more.
